The Canadian National Mediation Advocacy Competition (CNMAC) was created to support and enhance the skills of future lawyers in Canada and to highlight the importance of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) education in Canadian law schools.

CNMAC provides law students with an opportunity to further develop and apply the skills necessary to be an effective advocate in mediation. It is Canada's only forum for law students to showcase their superior advocacy talents.

The importance of ADR continues to grow. The inclusion of mediation and other forms of ADR in the civil justice system has contributed to growing client expectations for timely and cost-effective dispute resolution.

This competition provides an exciting opportunity for future lawyers to apply their advocacy skills in the mediation process - skills that will be critical to their success in practice.
